This is a professional contractual position responsible for providing leadership and technical assistance, education and leadership in Maryland by developing and conducting foodservice management and culinary training for Child Nutrition Programs (CNP) staff that support the development and implementation of USDA meal patterns.
Provides leadership development and implementation of culinary skills training through curriculum development, training and technical assistance to Maryland Child Nutrition Programs (CNP); provides technical guidance as a member of internal and external work teams in support of CNP participating agencies’ comprehensive culinary skill development and program implementation; develops and delivers training activities aligned with current USDA guidance for CNP and the Dietary Guidelines for Americans and Maryland’s state nutrition standards; leads the development of the strategic training plan for culinary training and professional development for CNP Staff; manages the relationships with external education providers and organizations that support staff training on culinary skills, foodservice operations, health and wellness; initiates and manages all special projects.
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition, Restaurant, Hotel and Institutional Management, Marketing/Business or a related area. Documented coursework in Culinary Arts preferred. EXPERIENCE: Two (2) years of professional experience in training culinary skills and management, or nutrition or health education is required; experience in training culinary and management skills to school nutrition audiences, developing and managing training or collaborative projects with a variety of stakeholders is preferred.
This position is contractual and offers no paid state benefits.
