This is a contractual position responsible for coordinating all project activities, providing professional development, conducting technical assistance and the monitoring, tracking and reporting related to the Maryland State Personnel Development Grant to ensure project activities are well documented while supporting the success of accomplishing grant outcomes.
Provides technical assistance and coordination for all project activities for the Maryland State Personnel Development Grant to ensure project activities are well documented, support the success of accomplishing grant outcomes, and completed within timelines; provides professional development related to all project activities providing expertise in the development of needs assessments, analysis of assessment date to identify professional development needs and the development of materials and training to address professional development needs at the State and local jurisdiction levels; facilitates the State Maryland State Personnel Development Grant Implementation Team to include: the development of agendas, materials and evaluations, communication related to meetings and any follow-up required; provides programmatic support and technical assistance to local school systems and public agencies related to improving outcomes/achievement for infants, toddlers, children and youth with disabilities and their families resulting in narrowing the performance gap with nondisabled peers.
EDUCATION: A Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university with coursework in Special Education, Education or closely related field.
EXPERIENCE: Four (4) years of experience in administrative or teaching experience in or affiliated with a Special Education program.
NOTES: Two additional years of experience directly related to the position may be substituted for the required Master’s Degree.
Knowledge of grants management; knowledge of State and federal laws, regulations, policies and issues governing education programs for students with disabilities; knowledge of the State Curriculum and academic outcome standards for students with disabilities; knowledge of project management principles; skill in developing and presenting staff development programs; skill in collecting, organizing, analyzing and managing data; ability to communicate with MSDE management staff, school personnel and MSDE partners; ability to research, analyze and present data and make decisions and recommendations; ability to work as a team member and establish and maintain effective working relationships; ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
