Spring Grove Hospital Center, Catonsville, MD.

Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of this position is to provide Occupational Therapy assessment and treatment recommendations for referred patients within the hospital with major responsibility to the Admissions Unit and the Community Reintegration Program within Spring Grove Hospital Center's Continued Care Units. Assessment/treatment areas include cognitive and psychosocial functioning, sensory modulation, coping strategies, self management and survival skills for independent living, task development and pre-vocational skills. Services offered include assessment, development and implementation of treatment plans and appropriate revision of treatment. This position works at the full performance level of occupational therapy as provided by a licensed O.T. professional and performs these licensed duties under the general supervision of a higher level licensed clinician or Occupational Therapy Supervisor or Manager. This position does not possess any supervisory duties.

MINIMUM EDUCATION OR GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

Education: Determined by the Maryland State Board of Occupational Therapy Practice under the licensing requirements for Occupational Therapists.A copy of your license, license verification or license number and expiration date must be attached to your application.

Experience: One year of experience as an Occupational Therapist.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

1. Candidates for positions in this classification must possess a current license as an Occupational Therapist from the Maryland State Board of Occupational Therapy Practice, Spring Grove Hospital Center, 55 Wade Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21228. A copy of your license, license verification or license number and expiration date must be attached to your application.

2. Employees in this classification may be required to successfully complete and maintain current certification of cardiopulmonary resuscitation training.

3. Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.

BARGAINING UNIT STATUS

The incumbent in this position is a member of a covered bargaining unit and will be required to pay a bi-weekly service fee to the exclusive representative of the bargaining unit.
