Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of this position is to facilitate the eligibility determination process for Exchange services. The position determines client eligibility across multiple programs and quality assures evaluation of applications and determinations of eligibility.  The position also provides information and support to the eligibility appeals process.  The position serves as a subject matter expert providing leadership, consultation and technical assistance in the interpretation and application of federal and state laws and regulations regarding individual eligibility determinations and interfacing/overlapping areas within the Medicaid program.

MINIMUM EDUCATION OR GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

Education:  A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Public Health, Public Policy, Healthcare Management or related area.

 

 

Experience:  Seven years of experience in medical care, health insurance, or federal or State entitlement programs eligibility or appeals case management including four years of supervision.  Extensive knowledge of the Affordable Care Act and IRS, HHS and/or DOL regulations implementing the ACA.  Specific knowledge of Medicaid.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

A master’s degree from an accredited college or university is preferred.
