LOCATION OF POSITION

Thomas B. Finan Center, Cumberland, Maryland

This position is two and a half hours away from Baltimore, MD.

Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of this position is to provide housekeeping and linen services to the Thomas B. Finan Center.  Housekeeping duties include:  provide a clean safe Environment, train and supervise personnel in the proper cleaning methods and procedures; monitor Building Service Workers daily work in making sure department cleaning standards are met; and, safe working conditions and safe equipment are being used in the process and all areas of the Hospital are clean and Infection control standards are met . Linen Services duties include supervising personnel in the daily operations of providing Patients living and therapy areas with adequate amount of clean linen.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Experience: Four years of experience performing housekeeping activities in a State facility or other public building.

 OR

 Four years of full-time experience as a housekeeper in a school, hospital, hotel, or other institution, to include one year of supervisory experience.

LIMITATIONS ON SELECTION

This position is limited to current employees of the Thomas B. Finan Center only.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

1. Employees in this classification may be required to be present for duty on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. Employees required to work on those days will receive compensatory time off on other days.

2. Employees in this classification may be required to live on the grounds of the institution or agency.

BARGAINING UNIT STATUS

The incumbent in this position is a member of a covered bargaining unit and will be required to pay a bi-weekly service fee to the exclusive representative of the bargaining unit.
