This is a Position Specific Recruitment for the Baltimore City Department of Social Services, Family Investment Bureau.  You must meet the Selective Qualification and Minimum Education and Experience requirements to be approved for this recruitment.

Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of this position is to function as an assistant manager by assisting in the administration of the direct delivery of services for the Family Investment Center and other income support programs to eligible residents within the geographical boundaries of a Family Investment Center in Baltimore City. The Family Investment Bureau of the Baltimore City Department of Social Services directs activities to assist families with children while preparing them for independence.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Please describe in detail any job duties relating to the minimum qualifications stated and include any computer software experience (ex. Word, Excel, Access, etc.) used in each of the positions you held.

Education: Possession of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university.

Experience: Four years of experience in the administration of a human
services program or experience conducting studies and analyses of programs, procedures, practices and organizations.

1. Applicants may substitute additional professional or technical
experience in the administration of a human services program or experience conducting studies and analyses of programs, procedures, practices and organizations on a year-for-year basis for the required education.

2. Applicants may substitute education at the graduate level at an accredited college or university in a human services related field at the rate of 30 semester hours per year for up to two years of the required experience.

One year experience in a Family Investment Program.  Please make sure that this information is clearly stated in your application.
