Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of this position is to manage the Senior Assisted Living Group Home Subsidy Program (SALGHS) and Naturally Occurring Retirement Community (NORC) Grant Initiative.  This position provides strong program and administrative support to plan, coordinate, and evaluate the Senior Care and National Family Caregiver Support statewide programs. 

This position supports quality operations of federal and state programs.  This position implements policies and procedures, monitors program quality and integrity, and provides training and technical assistance to local programs.  This position also stimulates growth and development of these programs, promotes partnership development, improves statewide program coordination, collaboration, and sustainability, and the submission of timely and accurate reports to funders.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Education: A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.

Experience: Two years of experience in the administration of a human services program or experience conducting studies and analyses of programs, procedures, practices and organizations.

Notes:

1. Additional professional or technical experience in the administration of a human services program or experience conducting studies and analyses of programs, procedures, practices and organizations may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.

2. Education at the graduate level at an accredited college or university in a human services related field may be substituted at the rate of 30 semester hours per year for the required experience.

Limited to current employees of the Maryland Department of Aging.

BARGAINING UNIT STATUS

The incumbent in this position is a member of a covered bargaining unit and will be required to pay a bi-weekly service fee to the exclusive representative of the bargaining unit.
