LOCATION OF POSITION

Ayton State Tree Nursery- Preston, MD (Caroline County)

Main Purpose of Job

The Department of Natural Resources (DNR), Maryland Forest Service, is currently accepting applications for one (1) seasonal Conservation Assistant position at Ayton State Tree Nursery, located in Caroline County. Daily tasks include but are not limited to the following: hand pulling weeds, seed cleaning and collection, building janitorial duties, cutting grass, trimming trees, harvesting and packing seedlings as well as other duties as assigned.

Applicants must be willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Education: Completion of the eighth grade.

Experience: None.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Basic knowledge of farm or nursery operation and tractor operation is preferred but not required.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must be willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
