LOCATION OF POSITION

Crownsville, Maryland

In the future, DHCD will be relocating from Crownsville, Anne Arundel County, to the New Carrollton transit stop location in Prince George’s County.

POSITION DUTIES

This position is the Lead PBT Officer for the CDA Contract Administration (CA) unit. The main purpose of the job is to ensure that the CA unit meets all HUD requirements under the Annual Contributions Contract (ACC) related to administration of Housing Assistance Payments (HAP) contracts for identified Section 8-assisted properties. As a Team Leader you will be responsible for assistance in managing /organization of the team to best maximize the productivity and efficiency of the unit. Participate / lead in training of new developed HUD standards and quality control measures. Ensure that all core tasks under the ACC are completed while earning 100% of all possible fees. The applicant should be very knowledgeable of project based vouchering, contract renewals, management and occupancy reviews and the HUD handbook 4350.3. Team Leader should be able to effectively communicate with tenants, HUD staff and unit staff both orally and in writing.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Education: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.

Experience: Four years of experience in administrative staff or professional work.

Notes:

1. Additional experience in administrative staff or professional work may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.

2. Additional graduate level education at an accredited college or university may be substituted at the rate of 30 semester credit hours on a year to year basis for the required general experience.

3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work related to the administration of rules, regulations, policy, procedures and processes, or overseeing or coordinating unit operations or functioning as a staff assistant to a higher ranking commissioned officer on a year to year basis for the required education and experience.

SELECTIVE QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must have a minimum of one year of subsidized housing experience (preferably Project Based Section 8 Experience)
  • Must have a minimum of one year experience processing HUD 50059's and/or vouchers

  •    A minimum of 3 years of leadership / management experience

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.
