This is a position specific recruitment for the Department of Public Safety & Correctional Services (DPSCS). The resulting eligible list will be used to fill this vacancy only for the Department of Public Safety & Correctional Services (DPSCS) Central Region.

Main Purpose of Job
This position directs the case management managers and supervises through them the case management staff to ensure case management services are in compliance with departmental and agency procedures and continuity of services.
POSITION DUTIES
Manages case management services, inmate grievances and re-entry programs and transitional services for the Division of Pretrial Detention and Services by directing and coordinating all activities of the agency’s programs.
Oversees the training and development of the programs’ staff to ensure performance of case management functions and compliance with case management directives.
Disseminates and interprets relevant information pertaining to agency policy and procedure to case management staff via meetings, written correspondence, and telephone calls.
Meets and coordinates with various officials of other agencies under the umbrella of the Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services to develop or modify division policies and procedures that directly impact other agencies. Represents the agency in a liaison capacity with directors and officials of other agencies regarding program activities.
Supervise, coordinate and evaluate the work of subordinate supervisors.
Directly supervises the Case Management Manager and Administrator I.
Develops and reviews policies and procedures associated with all aspects of case management to include: classification of detainees/inmates, case management program plans, program eligibility, inmate grievances and re-entry and transitional services. Establishes goals and measurable objectives for case management programs to accomplish the department’s mission.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Education: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
Experience: Five years of experience in administrative staff or professional work. One year of this experience must have involved one or more of the following: the supervision of other employees, overseeing and coordinating the general operations of a unit, applying rules and regulations, or exercising responsibility for the development of policies or procedures.
Notes:
1. Additional experience in administrative staff or professional work may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.
2. Additional graduate level education at an accredited college or university may be substituted at the rate of 30 semester credit hours on a year to year basis for the required general experience.
3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work related to the administration of rules, regulations, policy, procedures and processes, or overseeing or coordinating unit operations or functioning as a staff assistant to a higher ranking commissioned officer on a year to year basis for the required education and experience.

SELECTIVE QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants must meet the selective qualification(s) to be considered. Include clear and specific information on your application regarding the qualification(s).
One year of experience supervising case management staff who assess inmates' security risk and inmates program needs for the purpose of determining correct security classifications and developing program plans.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
The following qualification is preferred, not required:
Six or more years of experience supervising case management staff who assess inmates' security risk and inmates' program needs for the purpose of determining correct security classifications and developing program plans.
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.

BARGAINING UNIT STATUS
The incumbent in this position is a member of a covered bargaining unit and will be required to pay a bi-weekly service fee to the exclusive representative of the bargaining unit.
