Main Purpose of Job

The Contractual Coordinator Special Programs, Health Services II Health Services is the full performance level of work coordinating programs in the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene in a local health department, residential facility or the headquarters administration. The main purpose of this position which is a Problem Solving Courts (PSC) Case Manager is responsible for facilitating and monitoring participants' participation and completion of ancillary service component of the drug court program. The oversight includes but is not limited to acquisition and facilitating access to the following resources:  housing, education, vocational services, health, legal, family services, behavioral services, employment, pro-social activities and skill courses, voluntary service activities and non-clinical services as needed by the participants. This position does not provide the 'service', the position facilitates access to and monitors progress of behavior, attendance, skills learned, compliance and implementation of the services and skills learned.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Education: Possession of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in nursing, social work, psychology, education, counseling or a related field.

Experience: Two years of professional experience in health services, one year of which must have been in the option for which application is made.

NOTES:

1. Applicants may substitute a master’s degree from an accredited college or university in a health or human service field for one year of the required general experience.

2. Experience in the option must be as follows: professional clinical or administrative work in health or medical services in areas other than Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities or Addictions.

3. A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in another field plus one additional year of professional experience in health services may be substituted for the specific degree.

4. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Health Care Administration classifications or Civil Affairs Specialist specialty codes in the health related field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience and education.
