LOCATION OF POSITION

Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, Baltimore, MD

Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of this position is to direct the procurement operations to support the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in the following areas:  purchasing and requisition of all goods and services, procurement and negotiation for service and maintenance contracts.  Incumbent prepares contract packages, is responsible for inventory control, and directs storeroom operations. Knowledge of FMIS and ability to create requisitions and purchase orders in FMIS is desired.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Education:  Graduation from a standard high school or possession of a State high school equivalence certificate.

Experience: Six years of experience in receiving, storing, issuing, purchasing and requisitioning supplies, materials, and equipment, four-years of which must have included experience at the supervisory or management level or must have involved the final responsibility for purchasing and requisitioning.

Notes: Applicants may substitute education at an accredited college or university at the rate of 30 semester hours for one year of experience for up to one year of the required general experience.

BARGAINING UNIT STATUS

The incumbent in this position is a member of a covered bargaining unit and will be required to pay a bi-weekly service fee to the exclusive representative of the bargaining unit.
