Main Purpose of Job

This position is responsible for new eligibility determinations and redeterminations for the Maryland Children's Health Program and Families and Children's Program (FAC). This position provides case management, health choice education, resources referral, and linkages to existing social service programs and other Health Department programs.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience: Two years of clerical experience applying policies in a medical care, health insurance or federal or State entitlement program.

Notes:

1. Additional general clerical experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.

2. College credits from an accredited college or university may be substituted for the required experience at the rate of 30 credit hours for one year of experience.

BARGAINING UNIT STATUS

The incumbent in this position is a member of a covered bargaining unit and will be required to pay a bi-weekly service fee to the exclusive representative of the bargaining unit.
