Main Purpose of Job

This position directs and manages the Information Services administrative units for the Anne Arundel County Department of Health. The position supervises a staff of 6 employees and manages an annual operating budget of $600,000 and total Department Information Technology Services assets of $8 million. The position functions as Security Officer for the entire Department's electronic data.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Education: Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or other information technology-related field to include coursework in local or wide area networks.

Experience: Five years of experience planning, integrating and maintaining software and hardware for local or wide area networks, including 3 years experience supervising IT programmers, analysts and network specialists.

Notes: Thirty credit hours from an accredited college or university in Computer Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or other information technology-related field to include coursework in local or wide area networks may be substituted for the required education.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred candidates will have experience with Active Director, LINUX/UNIX and creating an IT strategic plan.
