Main Purpose of Job
A Fiscal Accounts Technician Supervisor is the supervisory level of work reconciling agency accounting systems to fiscal control systems or developing automated spreadsheets, ledgers and reports or identifying budget trends and recommending budget realignments.
The main purpose of the position is to manage the business functions of the Central District Region III Accounting Office. These functions include accounts payable, payroll, employee leave, student funds and other fiscal operations related to the operation of the facility.
The position coordinates assigns, trains and reviews fiscal activity for Fiscal Accounts Technician IIs, maintains ledgers and reports, develops automated spreadsheet, monitors activity, trains staff on the State of Maryland mandated automated system, and makes budgetary and spending recommendations and decisions relating to areas of fiscal supervision.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience: Three years of experience reconciling agency accounting systems to fiscal control systems or developing automated spreadsheets, ledgers and reports using accounting software packages or identifying budget trends and recommending budget realignments.
Note:
1. Experience calculating and recording financial, statistical or other numerical data may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required high school education.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience calculating and processing payroll, processing invoices and posting payments in State of MD Financial Management Information System (FMIS)
Experience in Microsoft Excel or Access
Supervisory experience
