Main Purpose of Job

This position provides clinical psychiatric services to adult patients at the Frederick County Outpatient Mental Health Clinic.  This position will perform face-to-face diagnostic and/or medication evaluations of patients presenting for clinic services.  It will also meet with patients on a regular basis for medication management and/or psychotherapy.  This position will participate in staff meetings and individual clinical supervision. 

MINIMUM EDUCATION OR GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

Education: Possession of a degree in medicine from an accredited college or university.

Experience: As required for certification in an area of medical specialization by an American Medical Association Specialty Board.

SELECTIVE QUALIFICATIONS

Candidates must be certified in Psychiatry by an American Medical Association Specialty Board.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

1. Applicants must be certified by an American Medical Association Specialty Board in an area of medical specialization. Candidates must possess a certification in Psychiatry.

2. Applicants must be licensed by the Maryland Board of Physicians to practice medicine under Maryland State Law. A copy of the current license must be attached to the application.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Employees in this classification are subject to substance abuse testing in accordance with Code of Maryland Regulations 17.04.09, Testing for Illegal Use of Drugs.
