Main Purpose of Job

This position serves as the Eligibility Manager. The main purpose of this position is to facilitate the eligibility determination process for Exchange services. The position determines client eligibility across multiple programs and quality assures evaluation of applications and determinations of eligibility. The position also provides information and support to the eligibility appeals process. The position serves as a subject matter expert providing leadership, consultation and technical assistance in the interpretation and application of federal and state laws and regulations regarding individual eligibility determinations and interfacing/overlapping areas with the Medicaid program. This position develops policies and procedures that ensure accurate and timely eligibility determination and enrollments. This position also provides policy support for MHBE training and consumer assistance. Requires a high level of expertise regarding eligibility rules at the federal and state level.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree and six years administrative or professional experience, including two years of management or supervisory experience. A master’s degree will substitute for one year of general experience.  Additional general experience will substitute year for year for the bachelor’s degree.   

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

A Juris Doctorate (JD) degree is preferred.

This is a management service position.
