This is a Special Appointment position at the Maryland Police and Correctional Training Commissions. The incumbent will work at the pleasure of the appointing authority.

Main Purpose of Job

The Program Administrator is responsible for the coordination of Executive Development Training Programs for the Department and for client agencies. This position oversees the programs administered to Corrections and Police and looks for commonalities to address in joint programs. This position requires coordination with numerous professional groups, negotiating partnerships, searching for grant funds, and developing cooperative partnerships that would substantially add to current programs. In addition, research in the field would be required to stay constant with current trends in leadership training and develop programs to assist in training based on client needs. Additionally, this position oversees the Maryland Community Crime Prevention Institute, providing crime prevention programming to Maryland communities.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Education: A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Management, Business Administration, Education, Higher Education or a related field.

Experience: Seven years of supervisory experience to include assigning tasks to staff, setting priorities, reviewing work products and evaluating performance.

SELECTIVE QUALIFICATIONS

Seven years of demonstrated experience interacting with Senior Executive Officers through line staff to communicate concepts, skills, and objectives for projects and long-term strategies.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.
