Main Purpose of Job

This position is responsible for the overall day to day operation and direction of the activities of the Central Collection Unit's (CCU) five Satellite Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration Offices (MVA) and the Baltimore Cash Office. This position is responsible for serving as the liaison between CCU Management and MVA Branch Management to address operational issues as necessary. This position is also responsible for the developing and enforcing operational and administrative policies and procedures related to daily operations within the existing satellite office and the Baltimore Cash Office (edited). The primary functions of these offices are to collect payments on delinquent accounts, prepare payment agreements, and provide customer service to the CCU debtors. Occasional travel to Satellite Offices for training and/or supervision is required. This position will serve at the pleasure of the appointing authority.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Education:  A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.

Experience:   Five years of experience in administrative or professional work. One year of this experience must have involved one or more of the following: the supervision of other employees, overseeing and coordinating the general operations of a unit, applying rules and regulations, or exercising responsibility for the development of policies or procedures.

Notes:      

1.  Additional experience in administrative staff or professional work may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.

2.  Additional graduate level education at an accredited college or university may be substituted at the rate of 30 semester credit hours on a year to year basis for the required general experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

1.  Previous cash handling experience preferred.       

2.  A Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or a related degree.

3.  Four years of experience in personnel management.
