Main Purpose of Job

This position directs the operation of the Resident Grievance System (RGS) which is the administrative process to ensure that the rights of residents in the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene's facilities are protected. The RGS is responsible for this function in the seven (7) Mental Hygiene (MHA) State Psychiatric Facilities, the two (2) Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA) State Residential Centers and the two (2) Secure Evaluation and Therapeutic Treatment units. In addition, this position is responsible for solicitation, evaluation, and monitoring of the Legal Assistance Providers contracts for all eleven (11) facilities.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Qualified candidates must possess a bachelors degree and six years of experience in administrative or professional work, including two years of this experience must have involved one or more of the following: the supervision of other employees, overseeing and coordinating the general operations of unit, applying rules or regulations, or managing contracts.

Note: 

1.  Additional graduate level education at an accredited college or university may be substituted at the rate of 30 semester credit hours on a year to year basis for the required general experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The successful candidate will have a combination of professional experience in direct care in a residential setting; or administrative experience in patient care, patient advocacy, or related work in a residential care setting.
