Main Purpose of Job
Functions as a manager to ensure that the production operates smoothly and within established administrative, creative and production guidelines. Manages television productions. Creates segments or an entire production.
POSITION DUTIES

Coordinate the production of multimedia projects.

Oversees the scheduling and proper use of facilities, equipment and materials.

hires and supervises directors, editors, researchers and other production personnel such as associate or assistant producers.

Manages a budget, contracts and schedules.

Ensures that contracts with talent and vendors comply with MPT's policies and procedures.

Formats projects and supervise talent.

Evaluates in-house technical capacities, determines best use of/and secures facilities.

researches, gathers data or statistics in support of segment or program.

Determines creative focus for segments or programs.

Develops segment ideas and presents them to appropriate personnel.

Once approved, creates segments.

Obtains footage, props and equipment for productions.

Writes, selects or assists in the selection of scripts.

Selects or assist in the selection of talent and music.

Negotiates with outside vendors.

Supervises edit sessions

may perform other duties as assigned or necessary for the success of the division.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in film, media, mass communications, or a related field OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. Five years experience producing in broadcast and new media.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Due to the unique nature of the project, this position requires an individual who is a Vietnam War Veteran or Vietnam era Veteran. In addition, the position may require flexibility in the work schedule, including nights, weekends and holidays.
