Main Purpose of Job

The State of Maryland, Office of the Chief Medical Examiner is seeking an Assistant Medical Examiner to participate in a team approach to forensic pathology, investigating deaths and performing autopsies as necessary.   The main purpose of this position is to provide certified medical and specialized pathology skills in the performance of the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner's (OCME) mandated cause and manner of death investigation.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Qualified candidates must be board certified in anatomic and forensic pathology by the American Board of Pathology or board eligible, as well as eligible for medical licensure in Maryland.

SELECTION PROCESS

This is a Special Appointment position.
