DHCD has an immediate opening for a Grants Manager in its Division of Neighborhood Revitalization.  This individual must be a highly organized, customer oriented, self-motivated, team player, with a professional demeanor, great interpersonal skills, self-motivation and proficiency with MS Office Suite of software applications.  Applicant will be required to demonstrate competence with Excel.  Ability to work with automated data systems is also required

LOCATION OF POSITION

The position will operate primarily out of the Division’s office in Crownsville, Maryland and later, a new location in New Carrollton.  The position will be required to occasionally travel to the Division's satellite office in Baltimore City, as well as awardee sites throughout the State of Maryland.

POSITION DUTIES

Serving as the Grants Manager in the Division of Neighborhood Revitalization, this position will primarily maintain financial records and process requests for payment for the Division's grant and loan programs. Incumbent will assist in the preparation of grant/loan agreements, oversee financial coding, maintain HUD's federal financial assistance information, prepare monthly reports, verify and reconcile grant balances and oversee the Division's purchases.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

MINIMUM AND SELECTIVE QUALIFICATIONS ARE REQUIRED. Please read job announcement carefully.

Education: Possession of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university.

Experience: Three years of experience in administrative or professional work.

Notes:

1.  Candidates may substitute additional experience in administrative staff or professional work on a year-for-year basis for the required education.

2.  Candidates may substitute additional graduate level education at an accredited college or university at the rate of 30 semester credit hours for each year of the required experience

SELECTIVE QUALIFICATIONS

One year of work experience must have involved processing, tracking, and maintaining financial records; preparing financial reports; and verifying and reconciling financial data.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.
