Main Purpose of Job

The Contractual Office Processing Clerk II is the full performance level of work typing information using a keyboard of a personal computer, computer terminal or word processor and performing other clerical duties.  This position will perform typing duties for the Infants & Toddlers Program, entering & retrieving data, filing, copying, scheduling appointments, answering the telephone, directing phone calls and walk-in visitors.  This is a part-time contractual position working 4 days (32 hours) per week. The successful applicant must demonstrate the ability to type accurately at a minimum speed of forty words per minute with no exceptions.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Education:    Completion of the eighth grade.

Experience:  One year of experience typing correspondence, reports, charts or other documents from rough draft, corrected copy or oral instruction on a keyboard of a personal computer, computer terminal or word processor.

NOTES:

1.  Candidates may substitute additional experience typing or performing other clerical duties on a year-for-year basis for the required education.

2.  Candidates may substitute graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate for six months of the required experience.

3.  Candidates may substitute five courses or six months of clerical training in subjects such as keyboarding, clerical math, word processing, spreadsheets, data base, graphics presentation, proofreading, or office etiquette for six months of the required experience.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Employees must demonstrate the ability to type accurately at a minimum speed of forty words per minute.
