Main Purpose of Job
The Contractual Community Health Educator I is the entry level of work planning, developing, implementing and promoting health education projects designed to further public awareness and understanding of the factors influencing health status and community health activities and services. The main purpose of this position is to assist in planning, developing, implementing and promoting health education projects designed to increase community awareness and understanding of the factors influencing health outcomes and resources available to prevent/reduce/manage chronic diseases. This is a full-time contractual position which may require working some evenings/weekends as needed.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Education: Possession of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Public Health Education, Community Health Education or Health Science.
Experience: None.
NOTE:
Possession of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a minimum of 18 credit hours in Public Health Education, Community Health Education, Health Science or related behavioral science and one year of experience in planning, developing, implementing and promoting health education projects may be substituted for the minimum education requirements.
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland
