Main Purpose of Job
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION - Possession of a bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university.
EXPERIENCE - Two years experience in administrative or professional work.
NOTES - 1. Candidates may substitute additional experience in administrative staff or professional work on a year-for-year basis for the required education.
2. Candidates may substitute additional graduate level education at an accredited college or university at the rate of 30 semester credit hours for each year of the required experience.
SELECTIVE QUALIFICATIONS
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. Knowledge of federal and State of Maryland firearms laws
2. Prior MAFSS, JIS, Judicial Case Search and/or DHMH access or experience
3. Experience in reading and understanding State of Maryland and federal criminal history reports
4. Prior CNII level NCIC/METERS access with at least one year of recent experience
5. Experience in determining or validating application requirements for accuracy and completeness
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Employees in this classification are subject to random substance abuse testing in accordance with Code of Maryland Regulation 17.04.09, Testing for Illegal Use of Drugs. In addition, candidates will be subject to an initial drug screening and a complete criminal background investigation to include a polygraph examination before appointment can be made. A criminal conviction may be grounds for rejection of the candidate.
NOTE: Employees may be required to work a rotating shift during emergency situations at the discretion of management.
