Main Purpose of Job

This is a professional formative assessment position that will be a part of a comprehensive team responsible for providing leadership, technical assistance and project management for the development, administration, and implementation of Maryland’s new formative assessment system.

POSITION DUTIES

Provides technical assistance and expertise for the development and implementation of Maryland’s Formative Assessment Project; identifies tasks and tools, resources and requirements necessary for effective implementation; coordinates project deliverables for the development, administration and implementation of the new formative assessment task item bank; provides technical expertise in uploading, managing and storing formative assessment tasks in Blackboard, MSDE’s learning management system; communicates with vendors to ensure successful upload and functionality of procured task items into MSDE’s electronic task item repository; conducts in-person and web based trainings on the formative assessment task item bank communicates effectively with internal staff and local school system personnel on project goals and professional learning opportunities; coordinates the day-to-day operations, correspondence, and scheduling of meetings.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION: Possession of a Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Communications, Computer Information Systems or similar is preferred. EXPERIENCE: One year of administrative, teaching or general experience with electronic resource management platforms; experience with Blackboard is preferred.  

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience with Blackboard is preferred.

BENEFITS

This is a Contractual posiiton limited to the duration of the funding for the Race to the Top grant.
