Main Purpose of Job

This is a contractual position serving as the technical expert responsible for processing bonus achievement payments for credentialed child care providers, and reviewing and approving credentialing applications for providers applying to participate in the credentialing program.

POSITION DUTIES

Provides consultation and technical assistance for processing bonus achievement payments for credentialed child care providers; reviews credentialing files for accuracy of bonus determinations; processes bonus payments; reviews and evaluates new and renewal applications along with required documentation submitted by child care providers; recommends approval or denial of applications in accordance with (COMAR) The Code of Maryland Regulations; reviews accreditation support and (CCCPDF) Child Care Career and Professional Development Fund applications; provides consultation and information to child care providers and the public regarding compliance with regulations and policies that promote quality child care.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION: A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Early Childhood Education or related area.  

EXPERIENCE: Three (3) years of professional experience in the administration of Early Childhood programs is required. This experience to have included working within a school setting is preferred.  

NOTE: Education at the graduate level at an accredited college or university in an Early Childhood related field may be substituted at the rate of 30 semester hours per year for up to two years of the required experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge of principles, theories, and practices relating to child care workforce professional development and workforce career pathway; knowledge of child care initiatives; knowledge of child care credentialing, licensing regulations and federal compliance concerning COMAR and CCCPDF; skill in the review and analysis of credentialing financial documents, skill in using  Microsoft Office and Google; skill in the preparation of clear, accurate and detailed reports;  ability to establish and maintain professional working relationships; ability to effectively organize and manage work assignments and satisfy deadlines; ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
