Main Purpose of Job

The position is responsible for modifying the race based traffic stop data collection procedures, as well as being the point of contact for all police agencies on this project. The incumbent conducts research and completes special projects such as developing policy and training for Speed Monitoring Administrators. The incumbent also provides classroom instruction on a variety of law enforcement and leadership topics.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Education: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university.

Experience: Four years of experience in administrative or professional work.

Notes:

1. Candidates may substitute additional experience in administrative staff or professional work on a year-for-year basis for the required education.

2. Candidates may substitute additional graduate level education at an accredited college or university at the rate of 30 semester credit hours for each year of the required experience.

SELECTIVE QUALIFICATIONS

Two years of experience at the rank of Lieutenant or higher or an equivalanet non-sworn rank supporting a police agency or operation. Applicants must be detailed in describing the nature of their work experience to meet this qualification.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.
