LOCATION OF POSITION

Crownsville, Maryland
 
In the future, DHCD will be relocating from Crownsville, Anne Arundel County, to the New Carrollton transit stop location in Prince George’s County.

POSITION DUTIES

The Administrative Officer III manages the process of loan underwriting and approval for the Community Development Administration's Multifamily Housing Development Programs, and reports directly to the Deputy Director for Rental Lending, Multifamily Housing Development Programs. This position applies and interprets complex administrative plans for the lending activities of the department and makes operational decisions and recommendations that ensure the efficient and effective review, approval and loan closing for the financing of both new construction and acquisition/rehabilitation of affordable multifamily housing. In this regard, the position directly contributes to the Department's mission of providing safe, decent and affordable housing for low and moderate income individuals and families. On an annual basis, the number of projects financed is expected to be about 40 with multiple loans per project and covering approximately 2,500 units of multifamily rental housing throughout the State, representing an estimated $500 Million in bonds and State loans.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Minimum and Selective Qualifications are REQUIRED. Please read carefully.

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience: Two years of experience processing and closing loans for secured mortgages or mortgage insurance.

Note: 1.  Additional experience as described above may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education. 2.    Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in the Loan Specialist classification series or Loan Specialist specialty codes on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.  

SELECTIVE QUALIFICATIONS

  • One year of experience handling loan closing for multifamily, commercial or residential loans.
  •  One year of experience tracking and maintaining data and information for periodic reports.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Candidates should have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple competing priorities.
  • Candidates with strong written and oral communication skills are preferred.
