Main Purpose of Job

The Department of Natural Resources, Forest Service, in Leonardtown, Maryland is currently accepting applications for a Seasonal Contractual Conservation Aide IV position. This position will perform work outdoors to implement trail maintenance work on DNR owned properties in Charles and St. Mary's Counties. Work duties will entail but are not limited to routine construction work, operating chainsaws, operating agricultural equipment such as tractors and skid steer loaders, driving B class vehicles and performing manual labor with hand tools.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: High School diploma or equivalent.

Experience: One year of experience in operating chainsaws, tractors, skid steer loaders, hand tools, and driving B class vehicles.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees appointed to this position will be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employee must possess a valid motor operator's license valid in the State of Maryland. A class A or B CDL Driver's License is required for this position.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Completion of Basic Wildland Fire Training: S-130 and S-190 is required prior to employment for fire suppression activities as needed when working in remote areas of State Forest.
