LOCATION OF POSITION
Springfield Hospital Center, 6655 Sykesville Road, Sykesville, MD 21784
Main Purpose of Job
The main purpose of this position is to provide accurate, efficient, and dependable communication services for the staff, patients, family members, and community programs that make up the hospital community; and to provide accurate and timely reporting to and linkage of appropriate staff and agencies during emergency situations. These functions are provided in accordance with the mission of Springfield Hospital Center.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Completion of eighth grade.
Experience: None.
Note: Additional experience performing telephone operator duties may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Employees in this class may be subject to call 24 hours a day and be required to provide the employing agency with a telephone or electronic beeper number where they can be reached.

BARGAINING UNIT STATUS
The incumbent in this position is a member of a covered bargaining unit and will be required to pay a bi-weekly service fee to the exclusive representative of the bargaining unit.
