Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of this position is to receive commodities through FMIS/ADPICS system and to assist Agency Procurement Officer with the procurement process and the storage and distribution of all commodities for the Annapolis Capital Complex.

POSITION DUTIES

  • Oversees fleet management
  • Provides back-up support to Agency Procurement Officer
  • Performs courier duties throughout the Annapolis Capital Complex and makes courier runs to Baltimore.
  • Manages warehouse stock and inventory for all equipment, materials and supplies through the computerized work order system. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience: Two years experience in general services functions, office administration activities or in the receiving, storing, issuance, purchase or requisition of equipment, materials, and parts and supplies.

Note:

1. Additional experience as stated above may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.

2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in logistics specialist classifications or administrative support specialty codes in the logistics field of work, on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.

SELECTIVE QUALIFICATIONS

One year of this experience must have involved Fleet Management and Inventory Control.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience working with FMIS, Microsoft Word and Excel is highly preferred.

LIMITATIONS ON SELECTION

This recruitment is limited to applicants willing to work in Anne Arundel County.

EXAMINATION PROCESS

The examination will consist of a rating of your education, training and experience related to the requirements of the position.  Successful candidates will be placed on the employment eligibility list categorized as BEST QUALIFIED, BETTER QUALIFIED, or QUALIFIED.  The list will be valid for at least one year and may be extended.  The list will be used by the hiring agency to select employees.

You must possess the minimum qualifications before you may be selected for a State job – Verification will be completed by the appointing authority.  Credit is given for relevant part-time, temporary or volunteer experience based on the number of hours worked per week.  You must include on your application the time you spent in such activity.  You must be legally authorized under the United States Immigration Reform and Control Act to be hired in the position for which you apply.

BARGAINING UNIT STATUS

The incumbent in this position is a member of a covered bargaining unit and will be required to pay a bi-weekly service fee to the exclusive representative of the bargaining unit.
