Main Purpose of Job

The Contractual Agency Budget Specialist I is the intermediate level of work preparing, presenting and executing agency budgets. The main purpose of this position is to combine analytical skills, language skills, and mathematical skills to relay information regarding fiscal services of the Charles County Department of Health. This employee is responsible to the Agency Budget Specialist Supervisor in Administration.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:    Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.

Experience:  One year of experience in budget preparation, presentation and execution.

NOTE:

1.  Candidates may substitute 30 semester hours of graduate education in accounting, business administration, economics, finance, political science or public administration for the required experience.

2.  Candidates may substitute additional experience as defined above on a year for year basis for the required education.

3.  Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in the Budget Officer classifications or Financial Management speciality codes in the Budgeting field of work on a year to year basis for the required education and experience.
