Main Purpose of Job
POSITION DUTIES
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Completion of the eighth grade.
Experience: Six months of experience typing correspondence, reports, charts or other documents from rough draft, corrected copy or oral instruction. on a keyboard of a personal computer, computer terminal or word processor.
Notes: 1. Candidates may substitute additional experience typing or performing other clerical duties on a year-for-year basis for the required education.
2. Candidates may substitute graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate for the required experience.
3. Candidates may substitute a minimum of five courses or six months of clerical training in subjects such as keyboarding, clerical math, word processing, spreadsheets, data base, graphics presentation, proofreading, or office etiquette for the required experience.
4. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in Administration classifications or in Administrative, Clerical, or Office Services specialty codes in the clerical support field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Must be knowledgeable of developmental, physical and/or social constructs of disabilities and in particular, familiarity with Autism Spectrum Disorders
Familiar with the complexities of the documentation submitted in order to verify a disabling condition and its impact on the ability of the child to remain in the home and community
The ability to understand basic statistical analysis
The ability to problem solving is essential and may involve such decisions as the appropriateness of requested Medicaid service documentation for special education related services
Possess experience supporting children enrolled in special education or persons with disabling conditions by collaborating and partnering to grow the network of resources within the Medicaid provider community.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential
