Main Purpose of Job

The Registered Dietitian II is a clinical nutrition position within the Family Health Administration unit. The Registered Dietitian is a member of the Interdisciplinary Health Care team with direct responsibility for assessing, implementing, and maintaining quality nutritional care for patients and/or residents. The incumbent may be assigned to areas within the facility, which may include: Chronic Hospital, Comprehensive Care, and Kidney Dialysis.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Determined by the Maryland State Board of Dietetic Practice under the licensing requirements for Nutritionists and Dietitians.

Experience: One year of experience providing professional nutrition or dietetic services.

Note: Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Dietitian and Nutritionist classifications or Dietitian and Nutritionist specialty codes in the Dietitian field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

1. Candidates for positions in the classification must possess a current license as a Dietitian/Nutritionist from the Maryland State Board of Dietetic Practice. Please be sure to submit a copy of your current license with your application via upload or fax.

2. Candidates must be registered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) prior to completion of probationary period and must maintain a current registration during their time of employment. Applicants who are currently registered should submit proof of CDR registration with application.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Employees in this classification may be required to provide the facility with a telephone number at which they can be reached.

Therefore, it is essential that you provide complete and accurate information on your application. Eligibility may be extended beyond one (1) year period.

BARGAINING UNIT STATUS

The incumbent in this position is a member of a covered bargaining unit and will be required to pay a bi-weekly service fee to the exclusive representative of the bargaining unit.
