DHCD's Headquarters Office is located in Prince George's County at the New Carrollton Metro stop.

POSITION DUTIES

DHCD has an immediate opening for a Real Estate Owned (REO) Assistant in its Division of Credit Assurance. This position will be responsible for providing support to the REO/Single Family Appraisals Supervisor. This includes, but is not limited to, assisting in the development and maintenance of an REO data base, the purpose of which will be to track and schedule activities relative to REO valuation, supervision and management. This position will act as a liaison between the REO supervisor and departmental personnel in order to maintain efficient communication with the goal of successful REO management, loss mitigation, and property preservation. These efforts enable DHCD to continue its mission of making available affordable homeownership and other housing alternatives for Maryland's citizens.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Completion of 60 credit hours at an accredited college or university.

Experience: None

Notes:  

1. Candidates may substitute one year of experience in administrative or professional work for the required education, at the rate of one year of experience for 30 credit hours, for up to 60 credit hours of the required education.

2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer involving staff work requiring regular use of independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting rules and regulations in accordance with agency laws and policies  on a year to year basis for the required education and experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Six months to one year of relevant work experience in Real Estate industry.
  • Preference will be given to candidates who are proficient in google mail, have good      written and oral communication skills, and have a good financial background.

LIMITATIONS ON SELECTION

This recruitment is limited to candidates willing to work in Prince George's County.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.
