Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of the Regional Coordinator position is to ensure Family Investment Program (FIP) services and benefits are authorized in accordance with applicable federal, State and local laws, regulations, policies and procedures for Local Departments of Social Services' (LDSS) staff.  The incumbent in this position serves as the primary contact for the LDSS staff; provides technical support and assistance to the local departments in the design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of all FIP performance indicators which includes but not limited to Food Supplement (FS) application and redetermination compliance and error rates, Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF) error rates, and Medical Assistance (MA) and Temporary Disability Assistance Program (TDAP); performs on-site case reviews for accuracy and timely delivery; reviews local departments' office operations and case management; prepares Findings Report for onsite reviews; advocates for the local departments needs including follow up on concerns until resolution of the issue; coordinates schedules and conducts meetings; evaluates local offices strategies to achieve improvement and recommends activities and/or changes in procedures in order to effect improvement; reviews Client Automated Resource and Eligibility System (CARES) and DataWatch reports of local department efforts to achieve and maintain application timeliness standards; and requests, reviews, and approves local department Payment Accuracy Plans. This position also requires travel throughout the State with overnight stays.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.

Experience: Three years of experience in the administration of a human services program or experience conducting studies and analyses of programs, procedures, practices and organizations.

Notes:

1. Additional professional or technical experience in the administration of a human services program or experience conducting studies and analyses of programs, procedures, practices and organizations may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.

2. Education at the graduate level at an accredited college or university in a human services related field may be substituted at the rate of 30 semester hours per year for up to two years of the required experience.

3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Administrative Officer classifications and Administrative Officer specialty codes in the General, Administrative, Clerical, and Officer Services field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience and education.

SELECTIVE QUALIFICATIONS

One year pf experience in any combination of the following: Family Investment Programs: Food Supplement (SNAP; Food Stamp).  Temporary Cash Assitance (TCA), Temporary Assistance to Needy Familis (TANF) and/or Medical Assistance (MA).

BARGAINING UNIT STATUS

The incumbent in this position is a member of a covered bargaining unit and will be required to pay a bi-weekly service fee to the exclusive representative of the bargaining unit.
