Main Purpose of Job

The Department of Natural Resources (DNR), Maryland Park Service, is currently accepting applications for one (1) seasonal Visitor Services Attendant at Patapsco Valley State Park Ellicott City, Maryland (Howard County). The main function of the position is to provide secretarial & financial duties for the park. The selected candidate will be responsible for answering phones, photocopying, issuing permits, making reservations, typing, processing mail and greeting customers. Other position duties entail preparing deposits and supporting paperwork, processing bills for payment, entering data into Excel spreadsheets, reconciling budgets, processing contracts, payroll and corporate card logs. The selected candidate will also communicate regularly with the Office Supervisor.

Note: Applicants must be available to work weekdays from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM. Some weekends and holidays as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:  High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience: None.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Administrative experience in the field of park operations, recreation or a natural resources related field is preferred.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Applicants must have a valid driver's license and a good driving record.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Applicant must be able to pass a background test.
