Main Purpose of Job
A Health Policy Analyst I is the intermediate level of work evaluating, analyzing, researching and developing health care services, policies and programs. Employees in this classification do not supervise other Health Policy Analysts. The Health Policy Analyst performs duties under close supervision at times and under general supervision at other times depending on the complexity of the specific duty being performed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
Experience: One year of experience evaluating, analyzing, researching and developing health care services, policies and programs.
Note:
A Master's degree in Health Sciences, Health Care Administration, Public Health, Public Policy or closely related field may be substituted for the required experience.
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.

BARGAINING UNIT STATUS
The incumbent in this position is a member of a covered bargaining unit and will be required to pay a bi-weekly service fee to the exclusive representative of the bargaining unit.
