Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of the AVATAR Project Manager (Administrator II) is to manage the day to day activities and resources necessary to ensure a seamless delivery of virtual world counseling to current and potential agencies utilizing this therapeutic modality. The incumbent will train practitioners to use AVATAR Therapy ensuring that AVATAR therapists have adequate knowledge of skills required for virtual world therapy and support groups and evaluate efficiency of operations and develop, revise and recommend new policies, standards, and workflow procedures using new technology where appropriate and perform other duties as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:    A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.

Experience:  Four years of experience in administrative staff or professional work.

NOTES:

1.  Additional experience in administrative staff or professional work may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.

2.  Additional graduate level education at an accredited college or university may be substituted at the rate of 30 semester credit hours on a year to year basis for the required general experience.

3.  Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work related to the administration of rules, regulations, policy, procedures and processes, or overseeing or coordinating unit operations or functioning as a staff assistant to a higher ranking commissioned officer on a year to year basis for the required education and experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The Successful  Applicant Should Have:

  1. Knowledge of evidence based clinical practices and privacy standards related to service delivery to individuals with substance use disorders
  2. Sufficient experience, knowledge, and skills in Information Technology systems to trouble shoot and problem solve system user problems
  3. Ability and interest in learning AVATAR technology
  4. Hands-on experience with virtual environments and knowledge of virtual environment best practices
  5. Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  6. Ability to quickly learn new concepts and software is necessary

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.
