Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of this position is to audit all DHMH entities statewide for the compliance of policies and procedures relating to corporate purchasing card, inventory control, fleet vehicle usage and parking at DHMH Headquarters and headquarter satellite facilities. The incumbent will be responsible for independent judgment and analysis when conducting compliance and operating audits of the DHMH headquarter units, headquarter satellite facilities, and hospital facilities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Possession of a bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university.

Experience: One (I) year experience in administrative or professional work.

Notes:

1. Candidates may substitute additional experience in administrative staff or professional work on a year-for-year basis for the required education.

2. Candidates may substitute additional graduate level education at an accredited college or university at the rate of 30 semester credit hours for each year of the required experience.

3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work that included the regular independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting complex administrative plans, policies, rules or regulations or analysis of operational programs or procedures with recommendations for improvement on a year to year basis for the required education and experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate must have working knowledge of fleet management, Preferred Provider Program, and Parking Policy & Procedures.The incumbent should have two years of experience with inventory control/audits and physical inventory audits.The incumbent should also have experience in MS-Word, MS-Excel and MS-Access.(An exercise of your knowledge using MS-Access 10 will be given at the time of the interview.)

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.

BARGAINING UNIT STATUS

The incumbent in this position is a member of a covered bargaining unit and will be required to pay a bi-weekly service fee to the exclusive representative of the bargaining unit.
