Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of this position will be to coordinate the 1422 heart disease, stroke and diabetes prevention grant. The Coordinator will serve as grant contact for community partners, implement program components in the community, participate in meetings/calls, collect data for reports, and collaborate with other area health departments. This position is designated emergency essential.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Possession of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in nursing, social work, psychology, education, counseling or a related field.

Experience: Five years of professional experience in health services, two years of which must have been in professional clinical or administrative work in health or medical services in areas other than Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities or Addictions.

Notes:

1. Applicants may substitute a master’s degree from an accredited college or university in a health or human service field for one year of the required general experience.

2. A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in another field plus one additional year of professional experience in health services may be substituted for the specific degree.

3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Health Care Administration classifications or Civil Affairs Specialist specialty codes in the health related field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience and education.

BARGAINING UNIT STATUS

The incumbent in this position is a member of a covered bargaining unit and will be required to pay a bi-weekly service fee to the exclusive representative of the bargaining unit.
