Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of this position is to manage and supervise the Caroline County outpatient substance abuse program and the Caroline County Substance Abuse Prevention Program. This position directs, manages and evaluates the daily operation of the Addiction and Prevention programs, which includes staff supervision and development. This position also prepares budget and grant requests associated with the operation of the treatment program and to oversee the same for the prevention program.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Qualified candidates will possess a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in nursing, social work, psychology, education, counseling, or a related field and six years professional experience in health services and four of which must have been at the managerial or supervisory level.

Applicants may substitute a master’s or Doctoral degree in a health or human services field for up to two years of the required general experience.

 

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The successful applicant should have education and clinical training recognized by the Maryland State Board of Social Work Examiners or the Maryland Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists, and, experience in direct clinical supervision of addictions counselors.
