Introduction

The Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control Agency is seeking a highly motivated individual to manage the agency's warehouse for the Facilities Operations Division. This individual will be responsible for ensuring that all policies, procedures and established guidelines are met while meeting the goals and enhancing the continued growth of lottery sales via the agent's and their network areas assigned.

Main Purpose of Job

This position supports the Maryland State Lottery Gaming Control Agency (MSLGCA) by ensuring effective and efficient processes for the Facilities Operations Division. This candidate will oversee and manage the functions of this division that include but are not limited to, the management and control, receipt and distribution of point of sale and promotional items which support the Sales Department in its efforts to maximize Lottery sales throughout the agent's assigned networks. Receive, post and maintain records of incoming agency purchases. Assist with the agency's promotional programs to include contest mailings and distribution of all materials. Assure all Facilities Operations in the warehouse are managed, reported and monitored.

POSITION DUTIES

  • Supervise and manage daily warehouse and shipping areas.
  • Develop and maintain departmental work instructions for all assigned duties and task associated with the warehouse.
  • Increase efficiency of the department and the employees. Recommend measures to improve quality of service and overall operations.
  • Maintain records related to receipt, issuance and control of all warehouse inventory.
  • Monitor inventory levels and initiate request for purchases to ensure and maintain inventory levels at all times.
  • Operates battery fork lift vehicle.
  • Provides training and supervision of all warehouse staff.    

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Possession of a bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university.

Experience: Two years experience in administrative or professional work.

Notes:

1. Candidates may substitute additional experience in administrative staff or professional work on a year-for-year basis for the required education.

2. Candidates may substitute additional graduate level education at an accredited college or university at the rate of 30 semester credit hours for each year of the required experience.

3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work that included the regular independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting complex administrative plans, policies, rules or regulations or analysis of operational programs or procedures with recommendations for improvement on a year to year basis for the required education and experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Working knowledge of the purpose and function of a large supply warehouse.
  • Working knowledge of methods and procedures used in the receipt, storage and distribution of supplies, materials and inventory.
  • Working knowledge of the maintenance of perpetual inventory records.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Knowledge of warehouse operations.
  • Ability to generate required reports, familiar with Microsoft Excel. 

LIMITATIONS ON SELECTION

Must currently be employed by the Maryland Lottery Gaming Control Agency.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.
