LOCATION OF POSITION

Main Purpose of Job
The primary function of this position is to provide paralegal and administrative assistance for the Maryland Agricultural Land Preservation Foundation (MALPF) Easement Program in 23 counties and act as a DGS liaison to MDA, OAG, County Administrators and title companies.
POSITION DUTIES

Provide paralegal and administrative assistance for the Agricultural Land Preservation Easement Program in 23 counties

Act as a DGS liaison to MD Dept. of Agriculture (MDA), Office of the Attorney General (OAG), County Administrators and title companies

Order and review title and plot legal descriptions

Perform file and spreadsheet maintenance

Approve and track invoices from title companies

Perform post-closing review and archiving functions
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Possession of a bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university.
Experience: Two years experience in administrative or professional work.
Notes:
1. Candidates may substitute additional experience in administrative staff or professional work on a year-for-year basis for the required education.
2. Candidates may substitute additional graduate level education at an accredited college or university at the rate of 30 semester credit hours for each year of the required experience.
3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work that included the regular independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting complex administrative plans, policies, rules or regulations or analysis of operational programs or procedures with recommendations for improvement on a year to year basis for the required education and experience.
SELECTIVE QUALIFICATIONS
One year of administrative or professional work experience shall be in the area of real estate title processing, including title ordering, land records research, title review and pre/post closing review with at least 6 months of experience in processing agriculture easement requests, performing legal description plotting, and experience in using FINDER Quantum software, Deed Plotter software and Excel.

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.
