Introduction

The Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control Agency is seeking a highly motivated individual to to perform the duties of the Warehouse Supervisor. The individual will supervise the Agency's Warehouse and Facilities staff and operational duties.

Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of this position is to supervise staff and the Point of Sales Warehouse distribution and Facilities Building Services for the MLGCA Agency. This includes performing as the liaison to several State contracted vendors and all Lottery departments concerning the Facilities Operations. The position is also responsible for the management of services and processes that support the core business of MLGCA and ensure that the agency has the most suitable working environment for its employees and their activities.

POSITION DUTIES

  • Supervisor staff employees
  • Supervise the daily operations of the warehouse and building facilities
  • Increase operational efficiency
  • Recommend measures to improve quality of services provided
  • Maintain records related to receipts and monitor inventory to initiate needed purchase requests.
  • Operate battery fork lift vehicle
  • Provide training and direction to subordinate staff

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Possession of a bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university.

Experience: Two years experience in administrative or professional work.

Notes:

1. Candidates may substitute additional experience in administrative staff or professional work on a year-for-year basis for the required education.

2. Candidates may substitute additional graduate level education at an accredited college or university at the rate of 30 semester credit hours for each year of the required experience.

3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work that included the regular independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting complex administrative plans, policies, rules or regulations or analysis of operational programs or procedures with recommendations for improvement on a year to year basis for the required education and experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge and experience performing required functions within a large Facilities Operations;

Demonstrated knowledge of methods and procedures used in the receipt, storage and distribution of supplies and materials;

Knowledge of the maintenance of perpetual inventory records;

Demonstrates organization, scheduling;

Prior supervisory experience skills;

Proven experience in the development and installation of operation methods, procedures and record-keeping systems;

Demonstrated history of establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with vendors associates and subordinates;

Experience in training new employees;

Knowledge and experience in the preparation of reports.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.

EXAMINATION PROCESS

The resulting certified eligible list for this recruitment may be used for similar positions in this or other State agencies.
