Main Purpose of Job

This position performs a variety of security and safety related functions while involved in the safeguarding of employees, patients, visitors, physicians and property, and assists Springfield Hospital Center Police as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:  Ability to read and write.

Experience:  None.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of an automobile. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Employees in this classification are subject to call 24 hours a day and, therefore, will be required to acquire telephone service at their place of residence.

BARGAINING UNIT STATUS

The incumbent in this position is a member of a covered bargaining unit and will be required to pay a bi-weekly service fee to the exclusive representative of the bargaining unit.
