Main Purpose of Job

This position provides supervision, leadership and managerial oversight to the Department of Learning Resources, to include the patient and staff library.  This position will provide educational programs for staff and supervise nurse instructors, clerical and support staff, and the Librarian. In conjunction with the Nursing department, the incumbent maintains our Maryland Board of Nursing accredited CNA program. This position receives general supervision from the Chief of Clinical Operations or designee.  This position is designated an Emergency Essential employee.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: A Master’s degree in Nursing or a health related field from an accredited college or university.

Experience: Three years of experience as a Registered Nurse to include two years as an instructor.

Note: Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Nursing classifications or Nursing  specialty codes in the Nursing Instruction field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience and education.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

1.Candidates for positions in this classification must possess a current license as a Registered Nurse from the Maryland State Board of Nursing, 4140 Patterson Avenue, Baltimore, Maryland 21215.  Please attach a copy of your current licenses.

2.Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of an automobile. Employees assigned such duties will be re required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.

3.Employees in this classification may be required to successfully complete and maintain a current certification of cardiopulmonary resuscitation training.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Employees in this classification are subject to call-in and, therefore, will be required to provide the facility with a phone number at which they can be reached.
