Main Purpose of Job

The Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene is seeking a Physician Program Manager II to work in its Spring Grove Hospital Center.  The employee will manage and oversee the unit supervision of all professional, technical, and support staff assigned to an in-patient area, providing all aspects of psychiatric care. The employee will receive managerial supervision from the Clinical Director or Associate Clinical Director or CEO and provides both administrative and clinical supervision (directly and indirectly) to members of the unit treatment team which may included other physicians, social workers, nursing staff (RN's, LPN's & CNA's), Psychologists, Recreational Therapists, Occupational Therapist, Physical Therapists, and all other support staff providing care within a specified unit. This position is considered Emergency Essential.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Requires an MD degree from an accredited college or university, Board Certification, and two years of medical practice, preferably at a supervisory or administrative level.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Applicants must be licensed and currently registered with the Maryland Board of Physicians to practice medicine under Maryland State law.  A copy of the current registration must be attached to the application.
